What's my bio?
I am passionate about creating positive impact on people,
organizations and society by bringing out the best in everyone. I am a doer
with exponential mindset. Fan of transformation and innovation, with strong
background in biotech, healthcare, life sciences and innovation methodologies,
I believe we can actively work to make our world a better place to
live. I master connectivity, I enjoy linking talent and technology and running
new projects and initiatives from scratch. I feel very comfortable with
uncertainty and big challenges. I enjoy making things happen and helping others
to succeed. Passion, purpose, perseverance, service, gratitude and commitment
are key in my life. I am also very optimistic and my energy grows exponentially in every project I am involved. I like to say that "impossible" is temporary because with effort and vision we can generate multiple opportunities and create the future.
Currently, I am Head of Strategic Projects and Head of SW
Development and Clinical and Laboratory Data Management at Universal DX (former laboratory director and senior researcher), an
in-vitro diagnostics company developing minimally-invasive, blood-based
solutions for detecting cancer early. I bring more than 15 years of experience
in biotechnology and chemistry applications development, team management and project coordination. I lead key corporate
projects, connecting R&D with operational and go-to-market activities, ensuring alignment across the different areas with our development plan and providing direct support to our managing director and COO. Additionally, I am responsible on recruiting processes and I provide support to the HR department.
I joined the company in 2013, when Universal DX was just an idea, with
the purpose to make cancer a curable disease. Nowadays, we are finalizing our first product,
Signal-C, for colorectal cancer early detection and we are developing our Signal-X
platform for multi-cancer detection. We are facing exciting times at Universal DX
moving forward. After 8 years focused on R&D and Medical Affairs
activities, we are closer to a “production” scenario, where we will be building
our operations in the US to develop and commercialize IVD-MD products for
multi-cancer detection. I will be involved in this transition process,
supporting the business growth as we transition. It means that I will face
multiple challenges as hiring talent to take the company to the next level,
organizing teams and management structures, building planning, and forecasting
capabilities, ensuring we execute on a timely manner and, reinforcing the
cultural values as it is crucial to sustain the business moving forward. At the same time, we will have to increase the
capacity and efficiency of R&D and Medical Affairs units. So that, we must
be ready to handle greater market and organizational complexity, across Europe
and US, managing people, developing new product prototypes, and applying
innovative approaches to existing processes.
I also serve as Chief Strategy Officer for BostonExO (May 2020), where I’m responsible for
creating and executing corporate strategic initiatives, driving organizational
change and innovation. BostonExO is New England’s first Exponential Organization (ExO) incubator which helps
companies thrive through continuous business model innovation. We leverage
exponential technologies along with an abundance mindset to help organizations
stay in business, disrupt their industry and achieve exponential valuation.
I provide professional services as exponential growth/innovation catalyst for both
people and organizations as well as consultancy, training, coaching, mentoring and agile
business transformation services.
I have 3 years experience training and mentoring start-ups at different development state. I collaborate with different incubators/accelerators and venture builders, mainly in the health sector (Kunsen Ventures (e-health), AcexHealth (health), Purpose Evolver).
I’m
an enthusiastic member of several purpose/innovation-related communities as
OpenExo, Purpose Alliance, Bridge for Billions and EBE&LI (Evidence-based Entrepreneurship and Lean
Innovation). I am Purpose Alliance Ambassador to promote our purpose contributing to create a global alliance of doers who create the next version of the world. I am Bridge for Billions Global Ambassador to unlock the innovation for all, and to contribute to create a fair, meritocratic, inclusive and, efficient entrepreneurship ecosystem.
My academic background is a mixture of technical and business related topics. I graduated
in Environmental Sciences, I hold a Master in Lasers and Advanced Spectroscopy
Techniques, a master’s degree in Business Administration and Digital Marketing
and a PhD in Biotechnology and Chemical Technology. I hold professional
certifications in innovation: EXO Consultant (OpenExO), Exponential Innovator (Purpose Alliance), Purpose Launchpad Master Mentor (Purpose Alliance), EBE&LI Lead Instructor (Evidenced-Based Entrepreneurship and Lean Innovation) and Lead Sherpa (Mentor for EBE&LI methodology). I was involved as collaborator to launch the Purpose Launchpad meta-methodology and also to launch a handbook for the EBE&LI methodology. I'm currently involved in a co-creation project called "Impactful jobs" to promote impactful careers worldwide. I also went through SIY (Search Inside Yourself) program (Leadership Institute) focused on Emotional Intelligence and Mindful Leadership. Since then, I am part of a global community working toward a more peaceful world in which all people feel connected and act with compassion.
Since its foundation in 2020, I have collaborated with a Spanish startup (Pentalium Pharma) to develop products to improve people health and wellbeing. We have launched our first cosmetic products and we have created a community around the sport and healthy habits.
I have excellent communication skills. I enjoy teaching and giving talks: I took part in the Digital Week Congress, in the Entrepreuner Day, in the ABC journal program "en femenino", etc. I am always open to collaborate, giving conferences and talks, to promote my values (purpose, brave, optimism, commitment, passion), the exponential technologies, to share my learnings and to make women contribution visible to the society.
I am collaborating as volunteer coordinator and speaker with The Foundation "El Mundo Que Viene", founded by Juan Martínez Barea in 2020, with the purpose of inspiring young people to lead the future and to support 5000 students in 10 years to create positive impact in our society. This year we are launching the second edition of the 321 Sputnik program.
